Two statutory ceilings
Great Britain introduced a £5 maximum stake per online slot spin for adults aged 25 and over, and a £2 maximum for adults aged 18–24. These are per-spin ceilings in the relevant rules, not recommended amounts to stake.
What a ceiling does not do
Repeated small stakes can still accumulate substantial losses. A stake limit does not change a game’s randomness, guarantee a win or replace a personal stop point. Bonus terms may impose stricter eligible stakes.
Plan before opening a game
A spending limit, time-out or self-exclusion can give stronger control than relying on the legal maximum. If gambling is causing stress, use independent support instead of trying to recoup losses.
Check the current game
The operator’s in-game information should show the actual stake controls. A slot available in another country or an old screenshot may not reflect the Great Britain version.
