The Dog House: adding wild multipliers on a winning line

The original The Dog House uses twenty fixed lines. Its kennel wilds can multiply a qualifying line, and several participating wild values are added rather than multiplied together.

Twenty lines across five reels

The original Pragmatic Play game has five reels and three rows. Wilds appear on the central reels, two to four. A valid line still needs the correct combination; a kennel does not turn every dog elsewhere on the screen into part of that line.

Think of each line as a path through the reel positions. Trace one path at a time before counting its symbols. Two promising-looking groups on different paths cannot be joined into a single longer combination simply because a wild is visible between them.

Worked example: 2× plus 3×

Worked mechanics example
MrQ’s exact-title description specifies 2× or 3× wild multipliers and addition when several wilds participate in the same line win. Assume a qualifying line award before wild multipliers is £0.80 and includes one 2× and one 3× wild. The result is £0.80 × 5 = £4.

Multiplying the wilds together would produce £4.80 and overstate that example. Equally, applying 5× to every unrelated line would be wrong. The example assumes only the stated line and values; the actual paytable determines the initial award.

Sticky is a duration rule

In free spins, landed wilds remain in their positions for the feature. The three scatter symbols start the free-spin process, with an opening feature determining the allocation.

Persistence and multiplication answer different questions: “Does this wild stay?” and “What does it do to a qualifying win?” A retained wild can still be present on a spin with no qualifying payment. Its position is not a guaranteed amount of money, and another spin must be evaluated normally.

Read the displayed UK setting

MrQ publishes 95.51% RTP for its original The Dog House page, checked on 21 September 2026. This is a scoped operator-page figure. Check the active game information rather than treating it as the setting at every casino.

For an abstract £100 of total stakes, 95.51% describes £95.51 returned in the theoretical model. It does not say a £100 deposit will leave that balance. Turnover counts every stake, including money restaked, and short-run outcomes can vary widely.

Keep the family names separate

The Dog House Megaways, Multihold and Dog or Alive are other editions. A larger ways count from Megaways does not belong in this original twenty-line review. Likewise, a casino award of promotional spins is separate from the game’s own scatter feature.

Compare Dead or Alive 2 for different wild rules across chosen modes. Our MrQ review examines the operator, and bonus terms explains the separate commercial conditions.

Questions, answered

Do 2× and 3× wilds give 6×?

On the described qualifying line they add to 5×.

Does a sticky wild guarantee the next spin pays?

No. It remains in place, but the next result must still qualify.

Is this the Megaways version?

No. This is the original five-reel, twenty-line game.
